Annual giving is a yearly fund-raising effort to support the ongoing work of RSD. Your contributions can have a dramatic impact on the lives of our students and their ability to learn and succeed in life. Annual gifts provide unrestricted funds that are used to support teaching, technology, equipment, facilities and other educational initiatives at RSD.
Adventures in Education held each fall and the Spring Festival are two important events that help RSD achieve its annual giving goals. Adventures in Education features a nationally recognized speaker who discusses a theme which RSD students use as central theme and focus during the year. Spring Festival is an opportunity for deaf and hard-of-hearing students and their families in the community to connect for social and recreational activities.
Corporations and foundations are welcome to participate in RSD's annual giving program by providing grants to support the educational mission of the school. Such grants were vital to the development of RSD's highly successful Rochester After School Academy (RASA) and Outreach Center. Grants also support the RSD's Shared Reading Program, which teaches parents how to encourage more reading at home, and the school's science lab.
