RSD 2010 Wildcat Yearbook Dedication 06/15/10

At a special ceremony held by Rochester School for the Deaf students and staff on Friday, June 11, 2010, the 2010 RSD Wildcat Yearbook was dedicated to RSD Teacher Mr. Gene DiVincenzo and RSD Media and Technology Aide Mr. Charles Forty. In their yearbook RSD students wrote the following about Mr. DiVincenzo and Mr. Forty:

“We have decided to dedicate this yearbook to a fantastic man with "magic hands." Mr. Gene DiVincenzo's expressions, signs and warm personality are enough to change our frowns to smiles. He has always motivated and encouraged us to learn about the world and current events. He has been involved in many activities with students in the classroom and beyond. Mr. DiVincenzo accompanied us to Europe and was our chaperone and interpreter. His restless hands never ceased to keep us informed. He has been involved with RSD play performances and has taught us how to act and dance. Everything he does is to benefit us and to help us experience success. He is a unique and wonderful individual who never fails to brighten a person''s day. He loves RSD, which is his second family. We are lucky to have him here as a teacher and mentor. He makes us proud to know him.

“Mr. Charles Forty began his career at Rochester School for the Deaf as a Residential Counselor in 1978.  He was involved in the RSD Bike Club where he volunteered his time in repairing and teaching students how to fix bicycles.  Mr. Forty then moved up to a teaching assistant position on campus. He worked effortless hours as necessary to assists students in anyway.  Eager to learn more about technology, Mr. Forty once again moved on to become the Learning Resource Center's Computer Lab Assistant where he helps students and teachers with computer needs. A kind and patient individual he is. We are pleased to dedicate our 2010 Wildcat Yearbook to Mr. Charles Forty and Mr. Gene DiVincenzo.”
