President: Theresa Doughty
Born and raised in Rochester, NY, Theresa Doughty is an Eastridge High School graduate. She earned her Masters degree in Physical Therapy from Ithaca College. Theresa is married to Mike Doughty and they have two daughters, Emma and Paige who attend RSD. She previously served as PSA treasurer, participated in Signs for All classes and the Shared Reading Project. Theresa is a physical therapist for the Gates Chili Central School District. Born and raised in Rochester, NY, Benjamin graduated from Greece Arcadia High School. After attending the Cleveland Institute of Art, in Ohio, and receiving his BFA in Illustration, he worked for a number of years as a Freelance Illustrator before returning to Rochester. Benjamin completed his graduate studies in Rochester, earning him a Master of Science degree in Art Education from Nazareth College. Benjamin has spent the past several years volunteering at RSD while his son Joshua attended RSD Early Childhood programs. BACK TO MAIN PAGE |
Secretary: Julianna Aggas
Julia hails from Kiev, Ukraine. She and her family moved to New York City in 1980. She came to Rochester in 1991. Julia holds a bachelor’s degree in Social Work and a master’s degree in Career and Human Resource Development from Rochester Institute of Technology. She has been working at the New York State Department of Education Office of Vocational and Educational Services for Individuals with Disabilities (VESID) as a vocational rehabilitation counselor since 1996. Julia is married to Darrell Aggas. Together, they have 4 children; Jaron, Bode, and Cayne who are deaf and attend RSD. Their brother Blake who is hearing attends another school. Guillaume Chastel has many years of experience teaching middle and high school deaf students in Math and Science, training student and professional American Sign Language interpreters, and developing and implementing French Sign Language (LSF) instructional courses. Guillaume earned his bachelor’s degree in Math Education in and his master’s degree in Deaf Education from Gallaudet University. He was born in Paris, France, and grew up in Aix-en-Provence in the southern France. He is fluent in both ASL and LSF. Guillaume taught at Governor Baxter School for the Deaf in Maine, University of Southern Maine, and at Rochester School for the Deaf.
