 About RSD

The Early Childhood Center (ECC) team helps families to understand the unique challenges they will face, provide comprehensive evaluation and diagnostic services, and develops the young children at an individual level.

We recognize and value:

  • A parents' intimate knowledge of their child
  • Education for all members of the family unit
  • Collaborative partnerships between teachers, therapists, specialists, and families
  • A parent's right to make informed decisions about assistive technology options, language choices, and educational programs
  • The opportunity for parents to network with other parents through monthly workshops and activities

Our Early Childhood Center offers:

  • A home-based Infant Program for infants 0 to 3 years of age with a 50-decibel or greater hearing loss
  • A full-day Preschool Program for children ages 3 and 4
  • A Kindergarten Program for school-aged children with an 80-decibel or greater hearing loss
  • A 6-week Summer School Program designed to support the ongoing educational and social development needs of young children

All ECC services are free to those children and families who fall within the guidelines and who live in the 17 county area surrounding Rochester, New York.
